Guernsey FC would like to congratulate Chris Tardif on his appointment as manager of the Guernsey men's team manager.
Tardif replaces the outgoing Steve Sharman, still a coach at GFC, and as well as a full recovery from a broken leg, sets his focus on the Muratti semi-final against Alderney in March.
Tardif told the Guernsey Press: "I am very proud and extremely honoured to have been given the opportunity to help Guernsey try and retain the Muratti Vase as the island manager. I look forward to the challenge ahead and can't wait to get started with my coaching team.
"I honestly don’t know [about playing for GFC again] it is still something that is a long way down in my thought process at the moment and until I am in a position to decide whether or not to continue playing, I am not thinking about it.
"For me, all my focus right now is about preparing a squad and a team for the semi-final match in Alderney because that game will be no pushover – the last couple of years have proved that.
"It is pointless talking about Jersey and getting involved in the excitement of Muratti final day when we are not even guaranteed to be in it.
"But I am well aware of what my job is – it is to retain the Muratti Vase for Guernsey and in that regard, I have a maximum of two matches this season to prove my worth."
Congratulations also to GFC goalkeeping coach Scott Ferbrache, whom Tardif has also brought in to his coaching team.
