Specsavers is Guernsey's largest employer, providing a range of jobs to 530 people in areas as diverse as marketing, accounting, IT, creative and wholesale.
The optical group began life on a table tennis table in the spare room of Doug and Mary Perkins' house 31 years ago. Now there are 1.700 Specsavers stores across 10 countries worldwide.
Each store is part-owned and managed by its directors who are shareholders of their own businesses and who are committed to delivering high quaility, affordable optical and hearing care in the communities they serve.
Giving back to the local community is at the heart of the partnership and Specsavers is committed to a large number of charitable projects in Guernsey, the UK and overseas.
These include the sponsorship of the Specsavers Guernsey Youth Games, the organisation of the Liberation Tea Dance and Hanger Ball, as well as numerous other sports and community activities.
Dame Mary said:
"Guernsey FC has quickly become an important part of the island community so we are delighted to be able to support the team in a significant way. Specsavers is a big supporter of match officials and has a number of key sponsorship deals so it is wonderful to now be able to offer support to a local team."
